2015 rock festers, have you all recovered? What an unbelievable four days in the heart of Wisconsin. And for those of you who are suffering a little mind-still-blown-ness, allow me to recap.
First of all, I have to say, Mother Nature can pack a punch, but hell if that’s gonna get in the way of rock. Like we heard from some of our friends in the campgrounds, “they can take our tent, but they can’t take our party.” That just sums up what we love about all of you. You were all rocking in the rain, holdin’ the forts during the thunderstorms overnight and sweating your asses off during the day–all for the love of the music and the bands taking our stages. Thank you for being the diehard fans we know and love.
Alright, Thursday night was an amazing kickoff to a wild four days. Shinedown–the list of hits was unending. The loudest singalong of the weekend–“Simple Man.” I think we can all agree watching Brent Smith belt out that classic never gets old.
And a little behind the scenes knowledge–did you know–the lead singer of Nothing More gave so much hell on stage that he needed medical attention on his feet afterwards?! He busted his toe open and still performed the rest of the show like a crazy mother***er. Dedication.
Friday night–Godsmack was completely fueled by your fire. One of their best performances we’ve ever seen EVER. Sully was unbelievable. And the drumoff?! Holy shit.
Saturday night was iconic… honestly, if that’s the last time we see Judas Priest, what a way to go out. A remarkable performance put on by the best of the best. You could feel the energy, standing in the presence of a true rock legend.
Breaking Benjamin was epic. The pit was packed. And Adelitas Way–classic crowdsurfing!
Sunday–you all geared back up for the fourth and final day of the 2015 weekend. Got to witness an engagement during All That Remains. Fan favorites Pop Evil did not disappoint and even brought up a young rocker from the crowd to sing with them on stage! And obviously, Chevelle blew our minds.
The mighty Avenged Sevenfold put on easily one of the best shows to have ever graced the Rock Fest stage. As many of you know, they only did three shows in all of 2015, one of which you got to see. That absolutely kicked ass. It closed the weekend the right way–on a high note.
Time for you to weigh in. Let us know who put on your favorite show of the weekend:
Now, while I attempt to grow a new liver, I’ll be keeping in touch on planning for next year’s Rock Fest. Stay tuned to the blog for lineup details coming down the road, and once again, thanks for all the love, support and fun you bring to Cadott every year. YOU are what makes this place come alive. Rock on.
